Gregory Waters is a researcher at the Syrian Archive and an Associate Fellow at the Middle East Institute. He formerly worked as a consultant for the International Crisis Group, where he conducted field work in northeast and northwest Syria before the fall of Assad. He now conducts research in western Syria as an independent analyst. His research focuses on Syrian security institutions, local governance, and sectarian relations.
